Head of Accounting
As Head of Accounting, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for efficiently leading and managing part of the accounting activities of the Group. You will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to develop and execute financial strategies that support the growth and stability of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and leading the accounting team, including setting goals, assigning tasks, and providing coaching and guidance
- Overseeing daily accounting activities, including invoicing, accounts payable and receivable management, and preparation of financial reports
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and legal regulations
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting department
- Analyzing financial data and trends to provide actionable insights to the management team
- Collaborating with internal and external auditors during financial audits
- Preparing budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer and the management team
- Coordinating and assisting with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including accountants, tax advisors, and bank representatives
- Supporting special projects and initiatives to support the financial goals of the company
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to senior management and the board of directors on the financial performance of the company
- Serving as a key point of contact for financial issues and providing expert advice to the management team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Demonstrable experience in a managerial role in accounting, preferably in a similar industry
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (BE GAAP / IFRS)
- Fluent in either Dutch or French with good knowledge of English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively work with diverse stakeholders
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems
- Team-oriented with a positive and proactive attitude
